ABOUT

The video "How Was Your First Day of Class: NYUAD Edition" brings together a series of responses that we received when we asked members of the NYU Abu Dhabi community about their first day of class in the Spring of 2020.

Through this, we aimed to show what the beginning of a semester at NYUAD looks like and how there can be so many different answers that come out from a seemingly bland greeting-intended question.

This website introduces our video that will make its debut in the 30-Minute Film Festival (30MFF) and gives you the chance to respond to our question, "How was your first day of [anything]?".

On January 28th, 2020, NYU Abu Dhabi was hustling and bustling as its students, faculty/staff
members, and cats were moving on with their very FIRST DAY of the 2020 Spring Semester.

Some were relaxing under the palm trees, some were studying in the library, and others were
catching up with friends and colleagues who came back from all over the world.


In these exciting (but also stressful) times, we asked our campus community to
describe their first day of class in ONE WORD.

Busy

A lot of things happen on the first day 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️. A classic "Modern Love" by David Bowie will boost up your energy so that you can keep going on!

Stressful

First day of anything can be nerve-wrecking and stressful. Hopefully humming to Jason Mraz's "3 Things" will allow you to take a break and relax 😌

Uneventful

No news is good news, right? Just sip some ☕️ or 🍵 as you listen to "I Will Spend My Whole Life Loving You" by Kina Grannis & Imaginary Future.
